Program Philosophy

We are a collaborative preschool setting where a wide variety of services are provided to meet the individual needs of each child.  We believe that the diversity of our children, families, and educators guide our program and that our goals must honor and celebrate their uniqueness.

There are morning and afternoon preschool sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  There will be no preschool sessions on Friday.  The session times for preschool are: 3-year olds will attend Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. 4-year olds will attend Monday through Thursday.

Preschool children will have items to bring home frequently, and a backpack will be an easy way for your child to keep track of their things.  Check backpacks daily for calendars, reminder notes, or notes to parents, and your child’s papers from school.

Please put your child’s name on the inside of all belongings that they bring to school (coats and backpacks).  Please send a complete change of clothes with your child; we will leave them in the backpack until we need to use them.

                                     School Bus Transportation

This applies to IEP students only!

Parents will be given the option to have their preschool child ride the bus to and from preschool.  We encourage parents to take advantage of this service.

The bus will stop in front of the house where the child is staying.  When the bus arrives, please walk with your child to the bus and help them climb into the bus.  When the bus returns, please walk out to the bus and help your child climb down.

It is important that children are ready when the bus arrives and that parents are there to meet the bus to avoid causing delays for the bus.  The bus cannot wait for children that are not ready.  If the bus arrives and your child is not ready please wave the bus on, and it will be your responsibility to transport your child to school that day.

If your child is ill, or will not be going to school, or doesn’t need a ride to school, please call the bus garage at 833-1916 or the bus cell phone.  This helps the bus stay on schedule for its other stops.

Private Transportation

This applies to ALL students!

If you will be transporting your child, help your child develop good habits by arriving at preschool on time.  Due to the back-to-back sessions we have, the preschool staff will not be available to accept children before class time begins.  There is an area at the front of the school where you can wait with your child.  Be sure to walk your child all the way to the waiting area and leave him/her with a teacher or para-proPlease do not leave your child unattended.

Parents visiting the school are asked to park in the guest parking on the east side of the school.  Please do not park in the BUS ZONE!

All visitors must sign in at the office and obtain a visitor’s badge.

Child Check-Out

If parents or visitors need to enter the school during the school day, they must check in through the office.  Parents or others checking a child out of school will be required to show a Picture ID before the student will be allowed to leave preschool.  This has become a school-wide policy to ensure the safety of our students.

Preschool Dress Policy

Proper dress and grooming greatly affects the attitude and behavior of students.  With this in mind, we encourage all our students to be mindful of proper dress and grooming habits by:

  1.           Wearing clothing that is clean, modest and in a good state of repair.
  2.           Wearing clothes that are safe and appropriate for school. Please be mindful of the weather condition.
  3.           Wearing proper footwear.

Students should not wear:

  1.        No shoe-skates should be worn to school.
  2.        No flip-flops on P.E. days with Coach
  3.           Clothes with inappropriate decals or writing on them.
  4.           Hats or caps in the building.
  5.           Short shorts, short skirts, bare-midriff tops, or spaghetti straps.
